On-Time Performance Report
Use the On-Time Performance Report to measure on-time pickup and delivery by organization, customer, or carrier — without exporting to outside tools.
What this does
The On-Time Performance Report shows what percentage of pickups and deliveries arrived on time, broken out by organization, customer, and carrier, so you can see reliability directly in TAI instead of building reports in PowerBI or another platform. It compares each stop's actual arrival against its appointment or scheduled time and rolls the results into on-time percentages.
- See on-time pickup and on-time delivery rates at a glance for the period you choose.
- Search by organization, customer, or carrier to focus on exactly who you want to evaluate.
- Sort to surface your lowest- or highest-performing carriers quickly.
- Export the results for sharing or further analysis.
User Guide
Before you start — what you need first
- Access may be restricted by role. On-time and carrier performance data sits with the Carrier Summary reporting, which is limited to authorized users (CommissionsAdmin role) because it can include sensitive financial data. If you do not see the report, ask your administrator to grant access.
- For accurate results, shipments need stop dates entered — appointment or scheduled ready times and actual arrival times. Stops with no actual arrival are treated as on time (see the FAQ).
How to run the report
Where to go: Open the Reports tab and open the carrier performance reporting (Carrier Summary). [ASSUMPTION — confirm whether On-Time Performance is a standalone page or lives within the Carrier Summary report]
- Search By: choose Organization, Customer, or Carrier, then enter the name in the search field. This limits the results to that selection.
- Date Type: choose the reporting period (for example, a quarter). All results update to that time range.
- Sort Order: sort by lowest or highest to put your worst- or best-performing carriers at the top.
How to read the on-time results
Where to go: Reports → carrier performance reporting, after running your search.
- On-Time Pickup — the percentage of pickup (origin) stops completed on time for the period.
- On-Time Delivery — the percentage of delivery (destination) stops completed on time, using the same logic as pickup.
- Results break out overall, by carrier, and by customer for the selection you searched.
How a stop counts as on time
Where to go: this is the logic behind the percentages on the report.
- Pickup = the origin stop; delivery = the destination stop.
- If an appointment and an actual arrival exist, the stop is on time when actual arrival is at or before the appointment time.
- If there is no appointment but a scheduled ready time and an actual arrival exist, the stop is on time when actual arrival is at or before the scheduled ready time.
- If no actual arrival is recorded, the stop is assumed on time.
How to export the results
Where to go: Reports → carrier performance reporting, on each result card.
- Use the card's export option to download the data (for example, to Excel) for sharing or deeper analysis.
Tips & best practices
- Keep appointment and actual arrival times current — on-time math depends on those timestamps being present and accurate.
- Use Sort Order by lowest to quickly find carriers that need a service conversation.
- Change the Date Type to compare performance across periods and watch for trends.
Frequently asked questions
Is an early arrival counted as on time?
Yes. On-time determination compares actual arrival to the appointment or scheduled ready time only; arriving early is not penalized. [ASSUMPTION — confirm whether delivery-window "too early" handling was added; the PRD raised this as an open question]
What happens if a stop has no actual arrival time recorded?
It is assumed on time. The report only marks a stop late when an actual arrival exists and it is after the appointment or scheduled ready time.
Can I see results for just one carrier or one customer?
Yes. Use Search By to pick Organization, Customer, or Carrier and enter the name; the results are limited to that selection.
Can I export the data?
Yes. Each result card includes an export option so you can pull the underlying data out of TAI.
If something doesn't work
- If the report looks empty or low, check that the shipments in your date range have appointment/scheduled and actual arrival times entered.
- If you cannot open the report at all, it is likely a permissions issue — ask your administrator to grant the reporting role.
- If percentages still look wrong after checking the stop dates, contact support with the search criteria and date range you used.
