Email Assistant: Set a Default Quote Mode
Use the Email Assistant default mode setting to force all new email-generated quotes to Truckload or LTL, regardless of weight or pallet count.
What this does
The Email Assistant default mode setting lets you choose the shipment mode — Truckload or LTL — that every new quote the Email Assistant generates will use, instead of the system defaulting to LTL based on weight or pallet count.
- Keeps full-truckload-only operations from having to manually switch the shipment type on low-weight or low-count quote requests.
- Applies your chosen mode consistently to all new Email Assistant quote requests.
User Guide
Before you start — what you need first
- You need the Email Assistant enabled for your organization. [ASSUMPTION — confirm Email Assistant is active for your org before configuring.]
- You need permission to change the setting that controls the default quote mode. [ASSUMPTION — confirm the exact setting location (source/org/customer level) with your TAI contact; the PRD scopes this as a new setting but does not finalize where it lives.]
How to set the default quote mode
Where to go: The Email Assistant default mode setting. [ASSUMPTION — confirm whether this is a source, organization, or customer setting; the PRD requested one of these but did not lock the location.]
- Choose the mode you want all new Email Assistant quotes to default to: Truckload or LTL.
- Save the setting. New quote requests processed by the Email Assistant will use the mode you selected.
Tips & best practices
- If you are a full-truckload-only operation, set the default to Truckload so small-weight quote requests don’t come through as LTL.
- You can still change the shipment type on an individual quote after it’s created if a particular request needs a different mode.
Frequently asked questions
Why are my Email Assistant quotes defaulting to LTL?
By default the Email Assistant chooses LTL based on weight or pallet count; set the default mode to Truckload to override that for all new quotes.
Can I force all new email quotes to Truckload?
Yes — set the Email Assistant default quote mode to Truckload and every new quote it generates will use Truckload regardless of weight or count.
Does this change existing quotes?
The setting applies to new Email Assistant quote requests. [ASSUMPTION — confirm there is no retroactive effect on already-created quotes.]
If something doesn’t work
- If new quotes still come through in the wrong mode, confirm the default mode setting is saved and applied at the level you expect.
- If you can’t find or change the setting, contact TAI Support at support@taisoftware.com.
