The Transporeon integration allows you to seamlessly share real-time shipment visibility data, including location updates, status changes, and event milestones—from Tai to Transporeon’s platform.
Requirements for Activation
To enable the Transporeon integration, the following components are required:
1. Integration Credentials
-
Provide either your Username & Password or an API Key (License Key) for authentication.
2. Linked Organization
-
The integration must be linked to your customer within Tai. Only shipments from linked customers will be tracked and updated.
3. Transporeon ID Mapping
-
Define which shipment reference type will be used as your Transporeon Transport ID.
-
This can be any reference field (e.g., Shipper Reference Number, Customer PO).
-
Note: This field must be filled with the Transporeon Load ID in every shipment manually.
-
Shipment Monitoring
Tai monitors your organization’s shipments for status and location updates. Shipment location data can come from various tracking integrations, including:
-
Macropoint
-
Trucker Tools
-
Project44 (P44)
-
Tai’s native driver location tracking
It includes:
-
Latitude & Longitude
-
Event Timestamp
-
Status Details
What Shipment Data is Sent to Transporeon?
Data Element | Description |
---|---|
Location | Includes latitude, longitude, location name, and timestamp |
Event Qualifier | Shipment status, such as arrived, departed, heading_towards, or completed |
Transporeon ID | Mapped from your selected shipment reference type. |
ETA | Estimated arrival times at origin and destination (if available) |
Update Frequency
Tai sends only the most recent shipment location update that occurred within the past 5 minutes.
Timeline example:
-
8:41 AM – Location A received in Tai.
-
8:42 AM – Location B received in Tai
-
8:43 AM – Location C received in Tai.
At 8:45 AM – Tai sends only Post C to Transporeon (latest update within the 5-minute window)
Only shipments from in transit to Delivered that have recent geolocation updates and the Transporeon ID as a shipment reference number are included in updates sent to Transporeon.
Event Types Sent to Transporeon
Event | Triggered When… |
---|---|
Arrived / Departed | A location update is received at either the origin or the destination |
Heading Towards | Shipment is in transit toward the destination |
Completed | Shipment is marked as delivered (optional, based on status update) |
In some cases, tracking data may fail to transmit from Tai to Transporeon. A common reason is the type of reference used in the integration.
Key Points:
-
Transport ID vs. Transport Number
-
The Transport Number (e.g.,
30000000
) cannot always be used in Tai to send tracking updates. -
Instead, the Transport ID (e.g.,
xxx0000x-x00x-0xx0-x000-xxxx00xx0000
) must be used. -
The Transport ID can be retrieved directly from the Transporeon platform using your login credentials.
-
Enter the Transport ID in the Shipper Reference Number (or the reference number you've chosen in Tai) field in Tai to ensure tracking data is transmitted correctly.
-
-
Why Transport ID Is Required
-
Depending on how the shipper is configured in Transporeon, the Transport Number may not be accessible unless an EDI connection is in place.
-
If only RTV (Real-Time Visibility) is enabled and no EDI integration exists, the Transport Number cannot be used as a valid reference for data transmission.
-
-
Available Options
-
If you want to use the Transport Number, an EDI connection with Transporeon must be established.
-
Without EDI, the Transport ID is the only valid reference for Tai → Transporeon tracking transmissions.
