Learn how to select trailer equipment for Truckload and Drayage shipments, including Trailer Type, Trailer Length (12–53 ft), and available options.
How It Works
-
Trailer Type identifies the equipment (e.g., Dry Van, Flatbed, Reefer).
-
Trailer Length is chosen from a dropdown (12–53 ft).
-
Trailer Type names do not include length (for example, select Dry Van with 53 ft rather than “53 ft Dry Van”).
Why This Matters
-
Trailer Type and Length are managed independently, making shipment entry more flexible.
-
Reports and workflows can reference trailer dimensions more accurately.
-
Shipment entry and maintenance are simplified and more consistent.
What You Need to Do
-
Always select both Trailer Type and Trailer Length when creating or editing a shipment.
-
If you have custom reports or workflows that use Trailer Type, ensure they also account for Trailer Length.
