Trailer Types and Lengths (Truckload & Drayage)

Learn how to select trailer equipment for Truckload and Drayage shipments, including Trailer Type, Trailer Length (12–53 ft), and available options.

How It Works

  • Trailer Type identifies the equipment (e.g., Dry Van, Flatbed, Reefer).

  • Trailer Length is chosen from a dropdown (12–53 ft).

  • Trailer Type names do not include length (for example, select Dry Van with 53 ft rather than “53 ft Dry Van”).

Why This Matters

  • Trailer Type and Length are managed independently, making shipment entry more flexible.

  • Reports and workflows can reference trailer dimensions more accurately.

  • Shipment entry and maintenance are simplified and more consistent.

What You Need to Do

  • Always select both Trailer Type and Trailer Length when creating or editing a shipment.

  • If you have custom reports or workflows that use Trailer Type, ensure they also account for Trailer Length.
