Highway - Secure Rate Confirmation
SRC is an enhanced delivery method for sending rate confirmations to carriers securely. Instead of sending rate confirmations as standard email attachments, SRC delivers them through a secure Highway link that requires carrier authentication before the document can be viewed or accepted. This significantly reduces the risk of freight fraud caused by compromised email inboxes.
Setup
To use Secure Rate Confirmations:
-
The broker must have an active Highway integration
-
The integration must have Secure Rate Confirmation enabled
If SRC is not enabled, carrier confirmations will continue to be delivered via standard email attachments.
Workflow
-
A broker opens a shipment and selects Send Message.
-
If a Carrier Confirmation is included and the broker has Highway SRC enabled:
-
The system prompts the broker to send the document via Highway Secure Rate Confirmation.
-
-
The broker clicks Highway SRC to send.
-
The TMS sends the rate confirmation to Highway’s Secure Rate Confirmation service.
-
Highway delivers a secure link to the carrier.
-
The carrier must authenticate (2FA) before viewing the document.
-
The carrier can accept or reject the rate confirmation.
-
The TMS receives status updates from Highway and records them on the shipment.
-
When accepted, the signed rate confirmation is automatically downloaded and stored in the shipment documents.
Rate Confirmation Status Updates
The TMS records important activity updates from Highway and logs them on the shipment.
