Shipment Templates
This article will guide you through creating templates for shipments that occur regularly and contain the same information.
Creating a Shipment Template
From the shipment details page, access the Tools drop-down menu and select the " Save as Template" option.

Accessorials

The Additional Stop Locations option must be checked for the Additional Stop Instructions to function. Similarly, the Additional Transit Legs option needs to be selected to enable the Additional Carriers option.
What is saved when the Accessorials option is selected
When the Accessorials option is selected, the template saves the accessorials that were manually added to the original shipment. These are the accessorials available in the Pickup, Delivery, and Shipment accessorial sections. As a general rule, if an accessorial can be selected in one of those sections, it can be saved to the template (for example, an "Appointment" delivery accessorial).
![]()
Certain accesorials are applied automatically when the shipment is rated, and these are not saved in the template. Because the system recalculates them each time a shipment is created, they do not need to be stored. This includes taxes and regional fees (for example, "Taxes - ON - HST - 13%" or a "California Surcharge fee"), as well as other rating or tariff-driven charges. Since these charges are not selectable, there is nothing for the template to retain. When a shipment is created from the template, they are reapplied automatically once the addresses populate and the shipment is rated.
There is no limit to the number of templates you can create for your customers.
How to Use a Shipment Template
When accessing the shipment creation page, you will find the option to "Create From Template". Clicking on this will display a list of all available shipment templates for you to choose from.

Template Management
You can manage your templates from the customer's profile. Under the Customer Tools drop-down menu, you will find the Shipment Templates option.

You can modify the template name and specify the shipment type it will apply to. Additionally, you have the option to delete your templates from this section.

If you need to make changes to the template selection options, simply delete the existing template and create a new one with the updated options.
